the chair...
Early on, when the co-op’s founders, Kate + Cheryl, first began brainstorming about the collective, the idea of a big and inviting velvet chair [in lieu of a front desk] came into the conversation. Kate was excitedly sharing the vision with Cheryl - who was totally on board - and before we knew it the chair went from being a piece of furniture to a representation of the movement that is The Yoga Collective.
the chair represents opportunity.
it’s our way of showing [and proving] that there is always an open seat under our roof for everyone. every student, teacher, business owner, artist + visionary.
the chair represents a movement.
the kind of uproar that changes the game in the yoga industry where the teachers within it are fairly compensated for the work they do.
the chair represents abundance.
and knowing that under the model of a cooperative there is enough for everyone. the concept of competition becomes eradicated and the cohesion of a collective breeds success for all.
